Our mission is to help save lives especially those who are at a greater risk for choking. Statistically a blocked airway is particularly dangerous for disabled individuals and those in wheelchairs. Standard protocol & the Heimlich maneuver are not always successful in a choking emergency. Both the AHA & ARC have NO protocol included for individuals in wheelchairs which leaves them unprotected in the event of a choking emergency.
